IRDOC #100

well, perhaps I should call it MDOC now. M standing for Monthly...

February has passed and gone, and so has a month of classes, sometimes pretty monotonous, sometimes somewhat interesting, but always with a fair amount of work involved. The last lab report that got turned in was a monster in time and coffee consumption.

It's spring break now, and I've been sitting in Ann Arbor doing what I do best. Basically, devilsticks, computer and running errands. Errands that needed t be done a few weeks ago but heh, I just never found the time. And of course, a little bit of homework and studying. There's a test the week after this but meh, if I start studying now everything will fly from my memory by the time the test gets here. I have a poor memory. Dorey Fish memory, I am wont to say....

Went pistol shooting yesterday at a range not too far from here. It was both fun and expensive. Like 46 bucks for 2 trays of ammo and an hour of time in the range. But, I discovered why now you can easily have people with a 9mm trying to shoot someone at 15 metres and miss completely. If you hold that gun like you're holding your girlfriend's hand (Or boyfriend's depending on your sexual preferences) chances are when you pull that trigger the gun's going to fly out of your hand. It's a stark comparison to what I went through in NS where they're piss anal about ammo accounting and not leaving your weapon unattended. Over here they're like "meh, if there's a problem just leave the thing in tha range, we'll come over and take care of it. And they don't bat an eyelid if you decide to keep a couple of unexpended rounds for a souvenir. I paid good money for those rounds, I'm free to put them to whatever lawful use I like.

A couple of my friends went driving to seattle over spring break. Crazy bunch of people spent all their time driving and no time sleeping or doing much else. Then when they got there what did they do? Go for a starbucks coffee. And, they got pulled over 4 times. Once for each of the drivers. For speeding, for suspected drug running, etc. It's just jittery police and the fact that alot of drug running is done in rental cars. As a matter of fact, they had a sniffer dog going over the car and it discovered residual crack and cocaine on the side panels where some previous renter of the car hid his stash. The stash's long gone, of course, but little traces that spill out were still there. So, they had an interesting experience nonetheless.

What else happened this month? er...
Actually February was a pretty boring month... stayed at home and did work and play computer most of the time, poking my head out of the house for Ring of Steel and for Juggling every once in a while, that's about it.

till next month..
