tat..dadida... It's 6:30 in the morning, I just got back home from Devil's Bar and had a bath and I have nothing better to do while I wait for my hair to dry...
Was there celebrating Caleb's birthday and the farewell for his sister who's leaving for UPENN for a 6 month exchange program.
Last night was the night of first times...
First time I got this drunk since school of Signals
First time I DD with this girl I didn't know till last night
First time I went dancing on (well, it was a bench in the middle of the place but it qualifies as a stage for all intents and purposes)
yeah. a pretty happening night, and for once, Caleb didn't get wasted despite the huge amounts of alcohol present. I lost count of how many drinks I had and I'm sure he had about double the number I did.
Well, last time in School of Signals I was sober enough to take attendance at the end of the event. Now I'm sober enough to write this... must be a habit forming.....

Just had one of the most tiring days since coming home today. Imagine having a jugging day that lasts from 10 in the morning till 12 at night. And a little dinner break in between.
But then again, it was worth it... Impressed a fair number of people at NTU during their ECA fair. (I was helping TY set up a juggling club there and he needed jugglers to attract people) Irritated a few too because apparently I can't juggle clubs as well as I thought and errr....you know what clubs traditionally are used for..
Also started working on two new Devilstick tricks today. Muahahaha... soon I'll be the Devilstick Master and then world domination will be within my reach...
Just as soon as I master the Albert Toss. (For the clueless, the Albert toss is one of the most difficult Devilstick tricks on the book. The stick starts out in front of you, goes between your legs, flies up behind your back and falls down in front of you nicely for you to catch.) Hmm... I just thought of something. How about the Reverse Albert Toss?

Sentosa Chalet was last weekend, and I'm finally un-zombified enough to write this. It was from Sunday evening to monday and I didn't sleep a wink till 10 on monday. It's fun trying to drive when you haven't slept for around 24 hours and the person sitting next to you is letting her head do an impression of a bowling ball.
Well, I reached home fine (I wouldn't be writing this otherwise) and so did all my passengers.
We had a Barbecue, mandatory for any chalet stay that involves more than 4 people. (There were about 50, if my estimation is accurate) And yours truly was the BBQ firestarter. (Heh... it's what I'm good at) . Here's some Photos
We had some games and lots of talk cock with the freshies. Personally I think the talk cock over BBQ was more important than the actual games that we played. You get to know people better that way.
Anywayz, I think all the people there had a good time, games and all, and for those people who went walking on the beach at 3am, we had a couple of "interesting" encounters. Well, not encounters, more like we were watching what some people do on deserted beaches at 3 o'clock in the morning...
And the rest of the week has been pretty busy, what with fetching Zhi'an 's parents from the airport, meeting Caleb and Abel, and concussing the whole of monday. I say, I'm feeling even more busy now that orientation.. errrr sorry.. "Orientation". Officially known as "New Student Welcome Program". Anyway it was quite hectic before it started and now it's over there's a lot less stuff to do for it.
hhee.. going to Kim's house for the first time this weekend. Hopefully I won't Hor Lan on the way. You can never tell, with roads these days...

Last saturday was the unofficial "orientation" (Officially known as the "New Students Welcome Program") for the new freshies going to UMICH from Singapore. Typical to the Singapore level of enthusiesm, some turned up with parents and took notes during the presentation like it was some college lecture and they would be examined on it. Sheesh, what would we ask? What is the most important thing you need to bring? Your passport, duh... Got that question wrong? IMMIDIATE FAILURE!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
Then there were those who turned up late in order to miss the boring speeches at the start. It turns out that the boring speech was at the end, by the UMAS president, no less. Crafty guy, if you ask me. He turns up 2 hours late, demands a piece of the presentation and bores the freshies right after the whole presentation is over and the mood is set for a round of healthy, no comments barred interaction session between the seniors and the newly arrived freshmen. AND... he caught those very people who deliberately came late in order to miss speeches like that anyway. I guess that's something we learn over there, eh? How to be crafty and get what you want, nevermind what others want, hmmm?? OK, to be fair, he did cut the speech short and nobody fell asleep while he was talking but here's something that I really appreciate the Singapore system for ingraining so deeply in us: punctuality. People who arrive late here generally get fried nice and crisp by the big boss in charge.
But the video I made was well received, even though it didn't turn out quite as I expected. It's a really satisfying feeling when the audience laughs and appreciates a joke you put up, and I think it was a good conclusion to the whole event and set the mood for a post presentation talk cock session. I'm just feeling a little dissed right now that there was a long speech immediately after that which put a damper on everyone's mood. (especially mine)
arhhh, well. It happened many times in the army too. Everything's going along nice and fine when somebody comes along and gives different or conflicting orders and basically throws a monkey wrench in the whole affair. But live with it...
Informal event is next week! There's a BBQ and you know what that means when yours truly is involved....

Oh Fuzzy... I forgot to write again last weekend...
Been working on my little "orientation video" project that's due to be released this Saturday. I've got the visual contant down pat but somehow I don't seem to be able to put together a good music score for the thing. I attribute it to my weird taste in music that seems to have been passed down from my father. He'd listen to Philip Glass, the Sandpipers or the Muslim call to prayers just as easily as he'd listen to Mozart or Cantonese pop music.
And yup, I know it's bad when I didn't even have time one day to play with my devilstick.
Orientation formal event is this saturday and I actually have to break out a long sleeved shirt for it. I think it's time to go shopping...
Haha. Anyone want to come along and express opinions on my dress sense?

Horror of Horrors!
My father actually condescended to eat Pizza for dinner yesterday. And of all places, in Pizza Hut...
Must have been a traumatic experience, cos' he really hates that stuff..

ssoooo sleepy...
I think I should cut the late nights or wake up later in the morning. Turn up late for work...
Just went through a marathon of wedding ceremonies last weekend. My friend Radha seems to have gotten the full cross-cultural treatment: from Welsh to Chinese to Indian. K- here's the pcture: she's half indian, half chinese, and her husband is Welsh. They had a big banquet in whales a few weeks ago, and now they're having another one here for the sake of the bride's family. They had a tea cermony on saturday, official dinner that night and a traditional Indian ceremony the next morning, complete with priest, lots of splashing water and throwing rice and flower petals.
As for me, it was fun to catch up with Radha and her sister, who I haven't seen for years. And no, I'm not feeling old because my friends are getting married... after all, she's 7 years older than me.
